Covid-19 Health Update

Acadia Family Dentistry considers the health and safety of our patients and staff as our highest priority. We have implemented some additional precautionary measures apart from the universal precautions to ensure the health and well-being of everyone. Some of these measures are:
  • Scheduling high-risk patients at designated times
  • Subjecting all patients to a temperature scan at the entrance to ensure their temperatures are below 100.4 degrees.
  • Disinfecting reception room, check-in and check-out countertops and bathrooms every hour, and wiping doorknobs and sinks with disinfectant regularly.
  • Hydrogen peroxide rinses provided before treatment begins.
  • All patients will call to notify staff of their arrivals and wait in the car until they are ready to be seen.
  • Removing magazines, toys, and non-essential items from the reception room.
  • Practicing social distancing: which includes no handshaking and hugging.

Emergency dental care – compassion when you need it most in Thibodaux LA

Woman having dental emergency

Despite terrific home hygiene, preventive treatments, and regular checkups, an unexpected dental problem can still occur. As a patient of Acadia Family Dentistry in Thibodaux LA, you have the assurance that genuine concern and emergency dental care is just a phone call away.

When emergency dental care in Thibodaux, LA is needed

Please call our office anytime you sense something unusual about your mouth. While mild toothache relief, chipped tooth treatment, a mouth sore, or other minor situation may not warrant urgent dental care, we give you the earliest available appointment to check it out. Often, your awareness and our early intervention can keep small dilemmas from becoming extensive and expensive dental repairs.

We also allow time in our daily schedule to give priority to emergency situations. They usually entail:

  • Knocked-out tooth – When a tooth is loosened or avulsed (dislodged) from an accident or sports injury, it is important to see the dentist as quickly as possible for the greatest chance of saving it. Call Acadia Family Dentistry right away, for immediate instructions.
  • Broken tooth treatment – A broken tooth can be quite painful if the edge is sharp. We get you out of discomfort quickly with a temporary crown.
  • Acute tooth pain – A hidden area of decay, tiny crack, or loose filling can allow infection to build in pulp at the center of a tooth. It may present as an intermittent toothache or tenderness when chewing. In some cases, though, severe pain and swelling develop suddenly. An abscessed tooth requires immediate root canal therapy or extraction to relieve pain and keep infection from spreading to other tissues.
  • Emergency tooth extraction – Though extraction is a last resort treatment, it may be necessary when a tooth is too badly damaged or infected to save.
